Forbes named the Des Moines/West Des Moines metro area #1 for young professionals, citing the fact that the area has one company of 500 or more employees for every 600 residents.

Des Moines is Family-Friendly

Whether it is the top-notch parks or being ranked by Robert Half Technology as the 10th best city to live and work, Des Moines is a city on the rise.

Value Penguin, a website focused on personal finance issues ranked Des Moines as the 4th best cities for young families.

One of the factors young families take into consideration when deciding where to live is education and West Des Moines has some of the best public schools in the state. Real estate site Movoto named the city as one of the top ten small cities for education.

Valley High School is listed 8th, and Waukee Senior High, earned the number ten spot in U.S. News and World Report’s 2015 list of best high schools in Iowa
